1. How would you describe your service?
SPC is an executive search firm that works on an exclusive basis with our clients in meeting their staffing needs. We specialize in placing professionals in the upstream oil and gas industry.
2. What areas do you place in?
We place professionals across most disciplines, but specific areas of expertise include engineering, geoscience and commercial.
3. What type of companies do you usually work with?
The majority of our business is with established small to medium sized independents. The balance of our dealings is with start-ups and oil majors.
4. How is a search initiated?
We'll set up a client meeting to discuss specifics of the position and our terms. We will then formalize the assignment through a signed agreement and initiate the search.
5. How long does a search usually take?
Depending on the job market and the nature of the position, a full market search normally takes an average of two to three months to complete.
6. Where do you find your candidates?
After determining what our recruiting strategy is going to be, we first look in our extensive database. From there, we network through our contacts and approach potential candidates working within targeted companies.
7. Do you advertise?
For certain assignments it is advisable to advertise and tap into the active candidate market.
8. Do you recruit out of companies you are currently working with?
As part of the ethical standards we adhere to, we do not recruit from companies we do business with.
9. What happens if I find my own candidate after a search has begun?
To maintain the integrity and objectivity of the search process, SPC will evaluate and compare all candidates that come forward either through our networking efforts or through our client's internal resources.
10. What do you do if we lose the candidate after the hire?
If you have to replace the candidate due to lack of performance within the first year, a replacement is made at no charge.
